Idea #41 - Pop-Up Libraries

During the summer months, bring our library services out into the sunshine via pop-up libraries at city parks and city festivals.

"Our city offers some incredible library services at our two branches, but it's important that we get our libraries into the community to remind us of the incredible resources they make available to local residents." Mary Trentadue, Council Candidate on Team Cote

New Westminster's public libraries offer many incredible services to the community. They not only make learning and entertainment accessible by lending out books, videos and music, they also offer research expertise, quiet spaces for reading, computer tutorials, and much more. To increase awareness among residents of all the benefits that libraries bring them, many communities have set up outdoor "pop-up" libraries during the warmer months. These pop-up libraries are mobile and can be located in a busy city park or at a city festival.
